The Child Guidance Center of Mid-Fairfield County offers a full-range of prevention, evaluation, and treatment services to address virtually every facet of a child's psychological, behavioral, and emotional health. We provide services to all children who need our help without regard to race, religion, ethnic group, physical handicap, or ability to pay.
OUTPATIENT CLINIC (OPCC)
The OPCC provides the following core treatment modalities: Individual Therapy, Family Therapy, Parent Guidance, Group Therapy, In-Home Services, and Case Management.
In addition to the above modalities, the Center offers psychiatric consultation and medication management as an adjunct to a given plan of care developed jointly by the child and family's primary clinician and the Center's interdisciplinary team.
Emergent cases are seen at the clinic within 2 hours through the Center's Crisis Intervention Service (CES). Urgent cases are seen within two days and routine cases seen within two weeks. Extended coverage outside of normal business hours for active cases is also available. >> Learn More
EARLY CHILDHOOD SERVICES
State and privately funded programs aimed at improving the overall social and emotional health and social skills of children from birth to age five. Includes the ChildFIRST early intervention program designed to decrease emotional disturbance, developmental, and learning problems. >> Learn More
OUT-OF-SCHOOL TIME PROGRAMS
The Center operates two Out of School Time programs:
After the Bell - A before and after school child care program operated in partnership with the Norwalk Public Schools located at the Kendall Elementary School in Norwalk.
Choices for Success - A youth development after school program for students in grades 6-12 located at the Norwalk YMCA providing academic support and enrichment activities. >> Learn More
