Programs and Services
When is the Center open?
The Center is open from 9:00 am - 8:30 pm, Monday through Thursday, and 9:00 am - 5:00 pm on Friday.
How much does The Center charge for its programs and services?
All fees are established on an ability-to-pay basis. Your fees will be determined when you meet with your clinician.
Do you accept health insurance?
We accept most major health insurance plans. You should contact your health insurance company directly to check if our programs and services are covered.
What is your appointment cancellation policy?
We require 24 hour notice if you need to reschedule or cancel an appointment. We reserve the right to charge you for visits that are cancelled within the 24 hour period. A history of missed appointments may result in a discontinuation of services.
Do you have a waiting room for other family members during an appointment?
Yes, a waiting room is located directly behind the front desk. Please be considerate when using cell phones, playing music, or playing games.
Do you provide transportation to appointments?
Please let our staff know if transportation needs to be coordinated with your insurance carrier.
What if I need help when The Center is closed?
If you have an urgent need when The Center is closed, please contact The Center's Emergency Mobile Psychiatric Service by dialing 211. For police, fire, and medical emergencies dial 911.
Do you offer programs and services in Spanish?
Yes. Our bilingual program works with Spanish-speaking families.
What is the age limit for children to access you programs and services?
Our programs and services are available to all children under the age of 19.
How is my privacy protected?
All client records and family histories are handled with strict confidentiality according to HIPAA privacy guidelines.
What is your admission policy?
Our programs and services are available to all area families (Norwalk, Westport, Weston, Wilton, Darien, and New Canaan) with children under 19 without regard to race, sex, national origin, religion, disability or gender identification, or ability to pay.
Is The Center a non-profit organization?
Yes, we operate as a non-profit, tax-exempt charitable organization under Section 501(c)(3) of the IRS code.
Are donations to The Center tax deductible?
Donations to the Center are tax deductible as allowed by law.
How is The Center funded?
36% of our revenue comes from state and municipal grants, 32% from service fees, 25% from foundation and community grants, and 7% from donations and fundraising.
What percent of donated funds go to helping children?
We strive to keep administrative costs as low as possible. For this reason 87% of all donations go to programs that directly impact children.
How many children does The Center help each year?
In 2012, we served a total of 2,222 children. 598 children were served by our outpatient children's clinic and other clinical programs and 1,624 children participated in our education, prevention, and consultation programs.
